The Teaching Materials:
The main textbook that we will be using is Minna No Nihongo. We will start with Book 1 and depending on the speed of the class we will attempt to work through both Book 1 and 2 over the period of the course. These are two of the most popular Japanese textbooks currently in use and the benefit of using them is that everything is written in Japanese. Now this may seem daunting but do not worry. The two alphabets, Hiragana and Katakana that you will be using to read Japanese are actually quite simple to learn. You can click here to start in preparation for your course. Also, we will send all our students a document that can be printed out to practice your alphabet before you start your lessons. This way, you can make a flying start when you arrive on your first day at Maskal.
